Gambling Addictions

gambling

Gambling can become a very serious form of addiction; it is typically considered an issue when it interferes with relationships, work, or financial stability.

Gambling includes any game of chance such as the lottery, slot machines, animal races, the stock market, pools, card games, and slot machines. Online gambling has become especially popular since the early 2000s. However, this method is especially devastating for those who develop addictions because games can be played with greater convenience, and credit cards may be used to place bets.

Gambling is often tied to other mental health concerns such as Depression, Bipolar Disorder, and Alcohol Abuse. Placing reckless bets may be a symptom of a mental health issue or it may be the source of a mental health concern. Many resources are available for those who may have questions or need support while dealing with a gambling addiction in themselves or someone they know.
