Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. When the emotional, physical, or other pain becomes too great, individuals lose hope and consider suicide out of desperation; but suicide is preventable. Life is precious and there are resources for help and support through the pain. Resources are available at SWIC, in the community, and through the free 24-hour hotline.
If you or someone you know is in suicidal crisis or emotional distress, please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255).
Counselors are available at each of the Southwestern Illinois College Counseling Centers for assistance. Contact us.
