Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the SWIC Educational Employees full-time grant funded staff position of Secretary-Instructional Services.


In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, work involves performing a variety of secretarial duties for designated Adult Basic Education directors and for the department?s enrollment and attendance services. Duties involve assisting in the management of program operations and assignments and include skilled typing, data entry and retrieval, maintaining a filing system, records management, registration entries and communications with various external and internal constituencies. The secretary performs tasks requiring the application of judgment and the interpretation of routine policies and regulations. The secretary receives instruction from a supervisor who is normally available for advice and assistance. Work is reviewed primarily for the quality of secretarial services provided. This is a full-time, twelve-month position contingent upon grant funding. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday.


  1. High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or college course work in relevant field is preferred.
  2. Minimum of three (3) years experience in secretarial work in computer environment is required.
  3. Demonstrated ability in database and word processing is required.
  4. Ability to work in Windows environment is preferred.


The starting salary is $28,844.

8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday
