SelsiusTM Corporate and Career Training at Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance instructors.


These positions will deliver training and consulting services to local companies in a non-traditional format. Work hours will be sporadic. Mechanical instructors must have a thorough understanding of industrial mechanics and commercial mechanics in such areas as machining, CNC, reading and interpreting blueprints, pipefitting, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps and compressors, alignment and bearings and lubrication. Emphasis should be on the practical application of these skills and on troubleshooting in a manufacturing setting. Electrical instructors must have a thorough understanding of the theory and application of electrical circuits, motors and generators, electrical controls, variable speed drives, instrumentation and process control, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), electrical power distribution, electrical print reading and interpretation, alignment and HVAC with considerable experience in troubleshooting.


Have completed a 4-year apprenticeship program in the occupational specialty to be taught OR have completed an Associate of Applied Science or Bachelor's degree program and 2000 hours of employment experience in the occupational specialty to be taught. Teaching or training experience preferred.


Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
