Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors to teach evening courses on electrical design and management subjects.
Courses cover areas such as basic DC/AC circuit principles, electrical wiring practices, conduit bending, National Electric Code, electrical system design, electrical code calculations, electrical construction materials and methods, lighting design, electrical estimating, and low voltage systems.
The successful applicant must have completed a minimum of an Associate of Applied Science degree in an appropriate specialty or have completed a three to four year formal apprenticeship program in the occupational specialty to be taught. A minimum of 2000 hours of employment experience in the occupational specialty to be taught must be documented. Additionally, the applicant should have practical experience in designing and estimating electrical systems.
The minimum starting salary is $37.65 per instructional contact hour for base Associate's degree.
