The SWIC Aviation Management program allows you to earn an Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate and an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Aviation Management with the opportunity to stay on the SWIC campus to earn a bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management through Southern Illinois University Carbondale.

The partnership between SWIC and Southern Illinois University Carbondale offers you a seamless continuation of training toward a bachelor’s degree.

Upon completion of your Associate degree program in Aviation Management, you will return to the Belleville SWIC campus to begin your junior year at SIUC.

THE SWIC/SIUC BACHELOR DEGREE COST SAVINGS

Through this partnership, you will save a significant amount on tuition and fees in your first two years of the degree at SWIC.

As you continue into your junior and senior year with SIUC at the Belleville Campus the SIUC tuition will be reduced by nearly 25 percent.

Plus you won’t have the expense of traveling or relocating to attend SIUC.

Overall, you will save more than 60 percent on the total cost of your bachelor’s degree through this SWIC/SIUC partnership.

Degree and Certificate Offered

Aviation Management Associate in Applied Science Degree

This two-year degree program will prepare you to work in high-tech environments with airlines or corporate flight departments. 

Students will have the opportunity to engage in flights operations and aviation management programs with SWIC industry partners such as the St. Louis Airport Authority.

Internships are available for students who desire a semester of hands-on experience.

Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate

An aircraft dispatcher works with a team of professionals who develop the flight plan and coordinate the flight operation with the crew, the air traffic control system and Federal Aviation Administration requirements.

This 21-semester-credit certificate program prepares you for the FAA certification test for dispatchers.

Four of the courses are also part of the degree program. 

This program is available as an option within the degree program of Aviation Management.
