Special Programs

Adult Basic Education offers free Citizenship classes to prepare eligible legal permanent residents for the United States naturalization process. Classes begin monthly in locations throughout the district. Students may take citizenship classes more than once, if necessary. All citizenship classes and materials are free, and registration is completed during the first class session.

Classes address:

  • The application procedure
  • American government
  • American history
  • The U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence
  • The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) interview procedure
