2007-2008 Financial Aid Handbook
Financial Need
Financial Need is determined by this formula:
Cost of Attendance – Expected Family Contribution (EFC) = Financial Need
The Cost of Attendance at Southwestern Illinois College for a full-time student during the nine-month school year is determined by the costs below. The U.S. Department of Education calculates your EFC from the information you submitted on your FAFSA. The difference between the cost of going to college and your expected family contribution is your financial need. You will not be billed this amount by the college. This figure is used to determine your eligibility for financial aid.
