About the Administration of Justice Program

The AOJ Program at Southwestern prepares students for careers in the field of criminal justice and all levels of law enforcement. This program offers a two-year associate in applied science degree or a one-year certificate in Administration of Justice.

Students earn hands-on experience through optional internships with area police departments, probation and parole departments, juvenile detention facilities and the Illinois Dept. of Law Enforcement.

Law enforcement and general studies courses prepare students for entry-level positions with an agency, court supervision or correctional facility.

A graduate of the Administration of Justice Program is prepared to work as a:

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports 399,543 police officers working today and predicts a 28% growth by the year 2005.
