Earth Science
Earth Science is the general name for all the sciences that seek to understand the earth and its neighbors in space. Geology, which literally means the study of the earth, examines the origin and development of the solid earth, as well as the processes that operate beneath and upon its surface. Meteorology and oceanography deals with the dynamics of the oceans. The study of the earth is not confined to investigating the interactions and interrelationships on our planet alone, but also attempts to relate the earth to the larger universe using the science of astronomy.
