About the Industrial Safety Courses

The Industrial Safety Courses are a series of classes designed to help teach you the safety standards and practices used in industry today.

The program is aimed primarily at individuals already employed in industry. These combines courses meet all Occupational Safety Hazard Administration criteria for individuals who wish to enter one of the following careers positions: Safety Director, Safety Technician and Safety Compliance Officer.

Also, Individual courses may satisfy the specific needs of an employer or business.

Industrial Safety

In this series of courses students will study first aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, hazard communications, hazardous waste operations, personal protection equipment, OSHA regulations, confined space entry; and learn the hazards of bloodborne diseases.

Courses for OSHA awareness are offered in a 10-hour or a 30-hour outreach format. OSHA awareness programs cover topics such as general safety, lifting techniques, eye and hearing protection, fire safety and procedures, forklift operation, hazardous material identification, writing procedures and plans, labeling materials, manifest documents and record keeping.

These courses may serve as approved Technical Electives in all Industrial Technology programs
