JAZZ UP YOUR AFTERNOON AT THE SWIC CABARET ON NOV. 18
If you are looking for an afternoon filled with the sights and sounds of jazz entertainment, the Southwestern Illinois College Music department has the perfect event for you.
The SWIC Jazz Cabaret kicks off at 3 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 18 at Fischer's Restaurant, 2100 W. Main St., in Belleville. The event is free and open to the public.
The Cabaret will showcase the SWIC Jazz Band and Chamber Choir, as well as featured artists Reggie and Mardra Thomas.
Reggie is a keyboard player who teaches jazz studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville and has collaborated with many nationally and internationally known musicians. He and his wife, Mardra, who is a vocalist, perform a variety of standard jazz classics and are frequently requested as performers and guest clinicians throughout the country.
The SWIC Office of College Activities will sponsor the event.
