Mondays, 2 - 4 p.m.

Pronounced "we," this home video game is a fun way to get together with your friends and play baseball, golf, bowling, etc. by using a hand-held remote and television screen. You'll get a little stretching exercise and a lot of fun when playing. After a little practice, you'll even be able to impress your kids and grandkids with your knowledge when they talk about their Wii! The game and flat-screen television are located in the Activity Room, lower level, at PSOP. For more information, call 618-234-4410, ext. 7016.

Fall is a perfect time to get out those cowboy boots and dance! Brush up your dancing skills or learn the latest new dance. Our instructor, Carol Schwartz, will show you new line dances and techniques each week. This is a great group to dance with, so sliiiide on over. Cost is $2 per session.

We are starting a new Friday craft group. We will have supplies and instructions; we just need some willing hands to craft with us. We will make a variety of crafts together. When we have quite a few items collected, we will have a sale table before an event. All proceeds from craft sales will help Activities keep these programs going. Monday, May 9 & Wednesday, May 11, 10 - 11:30 a.m.

On Monday, we will paint our terra cotta pots and turn them into beautiful little garden treasures, or at least attempt to. On Wednesday, we will return and fill our pots with soil and flowers with our volunteer gardener leading the way. Price is $4 for materials. Call to let us know you will be painting and potting with us so we have plenty to go around.

We will make an indoor fairy garden. It's really cute in a glass container, so you can see all the magical things inside. This is a really neat craft and makes a great gift, too! Cost is $7 for supplies.

Enjoy a wonderful day exploring historic sites and the village of New Harmony. The complete town was sold in 1825 to Robert Owen to create an intellectual utopia. Start with a tour, which will include the roofless church, marble labyrinth, opera house and more, and finish with shopping at the many different stores. Lunch will include a Kentucky hot brown (turkey & ham), salad and dessert. Linda Koenig will give us the history. Cost is $95 per person. Pick-up point is the Schnucks on North Belt West at 6:50 a.m. then the Collinsville Walmart at 7:30 a.m. Return will be at about 8 p.m. at Schnucks. Deadline is May 5. We are making some changes to provide everyone with a fair opportunity to sign up for trips, avoid empty seats and keep trips affordable.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2014 - To make a reservation for a day trip, dial the extension listed with the trip description. The recording will ask you to give your name and phone number, the date and name of the trip, and the names of people you are making reservations for. You will then be given seven working days to complete the registration form in the PSOP newsletter and mail it or bring it to the Activities & Travel office along with your payment. Any payment not received within seven days will result in your reservation being cancelled.

If a cancellation is received seven days or more before the trip, then a full refund will be given. If a cancellation is received seven days or less to the start of the trip, and a replacement is found, then a full refund less a $5 processing fee will be given. If no replacement is found, no refund will be given. Special cancellation policies may apply if the trip involves the purchase of non-refundable tickets.
