Mondays, 2 - 4 p.m.

Pronounced "we," this home video game is a fun way to get together with your friends and play baseball, golf, bowling, etc. by using a hand-held remote and television screen. You'll get a little stretching exercise and a lot of fun when playing. After a little practice, you'll even be able to impress your kids and grandkids with your knowledge when they talk about their Wii! The game and flat-screen television are located in the Activity Room, lower level, at PSOP. For more information, call 618-234-4410, ext. 7016.

Fall is a perfect time to get out those cowboy boots and dance! Brush up your dancing skills or learn the latest new dance. Our instructor, Carol Schwartz, will show you new line dances and techniques each week. This is a great group to dance with, so sliiiide on over. Cost is $2 per session.

Back to Top Streetwalkers - Lincoln Museum & History of Hollywood Tour

June 28, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Join us for lunch at Charlie Parker's Route 66 - featured on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" - or D'Arcy's Pint. Then, go to the Lincoln Museum and experience the lifelike figures of the Lincolns, see live performances in the theatre and view dozens of items that provide glimpses into the family's history. On the way home, get a homemade hand-dipped corn dog from Cozy Dog Drive In. This is a Route 66 staple where the cozy dog was invented. The cost is $42 and includes your motorcoach (pick up at Schnucks on North Belt West) and entrance to the museum.

We are starting a new Friday craft group. We will have supplies and instructions; we just need some willing hands to craft with us. We will make a variety of crafts together. When we have quite a few items collected, we will have a sale table before an event. All proceeds from craft sales will help Activities keep these programs going. Enjoy a wonderful day exploring historic sites and the village of New Harmony. The complete town was sold in 1825 to Robert Owen to create an intellectual utopia. Start with a tour, which will include the roofless church, marble labyrinth, opera house and more, and finish with shopping at the many different stores. Lunch will include a Kentucky hot brown (turkey & ham), salad and dessert. Linda Koenig will give us the history. Cost is $95 per person. Visit the Boeing Prologue Room, which is an air and space museum, to learn about St. Louis' role in fighter jets, helicopters, airliners and spacecraft. Next, visit the oldest Catholic church building between the Mississippi and the Rocky Mountains followed by lunch at Handel's Market (chicken salad, slaw, chips and carrot cake). Walk off lunch as you stroll across a Route 66 relic, the old Chain of Rocks Bridge. Finish the day at the beautiful Missouri/Mississippi River Confluence site. Cost is $89 per person. In an effort to keep her out of trouble, the nuns assign Deloris to the convent's choir, an ensemble that she soon turns into a vibrant and soulful act that gains widespread attention. Spend the afternoon at Stages St. Louis for a great musical after lunch at Café Telegraph. We are making some changes to provide everyone with a fair opportunity to sign up for trips, avoid empty seats and keep trips affordable.

Beginning Jan. 1, 2014 - To make a reservation for a day trip, dial the extension listed with the trip description. The recording will ask you to give your name and phone number, the date and name of the trip, and the names of people you are making reservations for. You will then be given seven working days to complete the registration form in the PSOP newsletter and mail it or bring it to the Activities & Travel office along with your payment. Any payment not received within seven days will result in your reservation being cancelled.

If a cancellation is received seven days or more before the trip, then a full refund will be given. If a cancellation is received seven days or less to the start of the trip, and a replacement is found, then a full refund less a $5 processing fee will be given. If no replacement is found, no refund will be given. Special cancellation policies may apply if the trip involves the purchase of non-refundable tickets.
