Need help finding things on the Web? We've got you covered! Below is a list of a few search engines available on the Web. These can be divided into three basic categories. Basic search engines, like Google, search the Web and index the sites for you so you can find sites by entering a few simple keywords. Meta-search engines, such as DogPile and ixQuick, submit your search to multiple search engines and provide the results to you all at once. Web directories, such as the Librarians Index to the Web and Yahoo!, sort Web pages by category to make information easier to find.

Want more information on the features of the different search engines? Check out this page from InfoPeople. You can also try this basic tutorial on searching the Web from the Universtiy of South Carolina.
