The Southwestern Illinois College Music department will continue its Chamber Music Series with the sounds of flutists Shelly Monier and Kristi Cardoni and pianist Diana Umali.

The concert, “Gazing into the Crystal Ball” will be held Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. at the Schmidt Art Center on the Southwestern Illinois College Belleville Campus. The program is free and open to the public.

The recital will feature music written during the 20th century by composers of diverse backgrounds. Michael Daugherty's ‘Crystal’ evokes the mysterious nature of gypsies, while Erwin Schulhoff's music for flute and piano echoes the uncertainty of a post-World War II landscape.
