The Southwestern Illinois College men’s basketball team is continuing its strong tradition of recruiting top players.
Keenan Minor of Cahokia High School and college transfers Corvon Butler and Jacob Tolbert have signed national letters of intent to play for the Blue Storm.
Minor, a 6’2” guard-forward, led Cahokia to the Class 3A state title game, averaging 21 points per game. He made 101 3-pointers last season.
“Keenan is a pure shooter, and that’s exactly what we’ve been looking for in this recruiting class,” SWIC Men’s Head Basketball Coach Jay Harrington said.
Butler played at North Carolina A&T last season. The 6’5” guard-forward from Champaign, Ill., will have one year of eligibility at SWIC.
“We think Corvon can do a lot here in his year of eligibility,” Harrington said.
Tolbert, a 6’7” forward, was a walk-on redshirt freshman last season at Southeast Missouri State University. The Daisy, Mo., native was all-state as a high school senior in 2011.
“His size and ability make him a great addition to our program,” Harrington said.
