Women's Volleyball Coaches

Head Coach Warren Thomas

Coach Thomas is entering his fourth season as head women's volleyball coach at SWIC with an overall record of 36-69, finishing 5th, 6th, and 4th respectively in NJCAA Region 24 (2012-2014). Since his arrival, he has improved the program's competitive level demonstrated by SWIC's first home play-off match appearance in several years this past 2014 season. Coach Thomas has dedicated himself to grow the volleyball program back to championship heights.Prior to coming to SWIC, Coach Thomas was the head girl's volleyball coach at Alamogordo High School, Alamogordo, New Mexico, where he coached for seven years, placing fourth in Class 5A State (2008); first school's appearance at this level in 19 years.

Coach Thomas graduated from New Mexico State University with a bachelor's degree in physical education. He is retired from the Air Force, where he was enlisted for 28 years. Volleyball has been a major part of his life, playing and/or coaching for over 35 years. Noteworthy, he played internationally for the European Armed Forces Team before coaching the Holloman Air Force Base men's and women's club teams while stationed in New Mexico. Additionally, he currently coaches Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) Youth Volleyball under the Gateway Volleyball organization out of St. Louis, MO. 

Coach Thomas is looking forward to the upcoming volleyball season and is excited about the players he has returning and the new players who have signed to play at SWIC.

Assistant Coach Kevin Andes

Coach Andes is entering his fifth year as the Assistant Women's Volleyball Coach at SWIC. For the past 15 years, he has coached the AAU Youth Volleyball under the Gateway Volleyball organization. Coach Andes has played on several adult club and military teams spanning over 30 years with select teams in Guam, Korea, Nebraska and Illinois. Additionally, he served as an USAV Provisional Referee, Nebraska Region.

Coach Andes holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems from Park University and a Master's Degree in Management Information Systems from Webster University. He served in the United States Air Force for 20 years.

Assistant Coach Alicia Farris

Coach Farris is entering her third season assisting the SWIC Volleyball Program as team statistician and recruiting agent, along with assistant coaching duties. She has been involved with volleyball for several years as a youth volleyball coach under the AAU Gateway Volleyball organization.

Coach Farris is a graduate from Lincoln Land Community College where she obtained an Associate's Degree with an emphasis in History. She received her Bachelor's Degree in History from SIUE and furthered her education receiving a Master's Degree in Elementary Education.
