If you are a U.S. military veteran with questions about the Affordable Care Act, health services for you and your dependents, résumé creation and employment, education and training opportunities, Veterans Administration benefits and Illinois-specific benefits providers, Southwestern Illinois College will have people on hand to answer.
Attend the inaugural Veterans Benefits and Services Day Wednesday, Nov. 13 to speak with service providers, to participate in informational workshops, to make needed connections and to get answers to your questions. More than 20 service providers will be on hand at the SWIC Sam Wolf Granite City Campus, 4950 Maryville Road, Granite City, Ill.
"This one-day event aims to highlight the numerous services and benefits we can provide our veterans and their families throughout our community," said Campus Executive Director Frank Miles. "Service providers will answer questions, help with enrollments and aid in overcoming barriers or issues that day. If needed, they will schedule one-on-one follow-ups with veterans or their dependents to help resolve remaining issues."
Services and activities will center around four main topics: veteran disability and Illinois-specific benefit providers, veterans employment information and career services, health and wellness for veterans and their families, and education and training opportunities for veterans and their families.
Call 618-931-0600, ext. 7336, for workshop descriptions, participating service provider or other event information.
