Position Title: Commercial Coatings Painter

Location: Highland, IL

Position Summary: We are looking for an experienced Commercial Coatings Painter to perform paint work for custom manufactured trailers and displays. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience in the automotive paint and body industries with experience in mixing and spraying Axalta paint materials.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting. Sanding, masking, washing.
  • Disassembling vehicles and reassembling vehicles as needed for paint.
  • Performing all body work, as needed.
  • Mixing and spraying Axalta paint products.
  • Vinyl graphics removal and installation.
  • Must comply with all safety rules and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an automotive paint environment.
  • Must demonstrate a consistent work history, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge in repairing and automotive body work.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Use of air and electric hand tools.
  • Experience in a manufacturing setting and commercial environment.
  • Must be a problem solver.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Axalta paint products spraying and mixing paints.
  • Spraying paint using Pressure Pots/Gravity Guns.
  • Vinyl trim application.
  • Welding Mig/Tig.
  • Spraying bedliner products, Scorpion/Linex type materials.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to stand up to 8+ hours per day.
  • Physically able to climb in and out of trailers, scaffolding and ladders.
  • Must have the ability to hear and respond to auditory signals, distinguish tones and pitches in equipment, and use hearing protection during specific tasks.
  • Ability to lift & carry up to 75 lbs.
  • Some travel may be required for on-site assistance/repair.
