American civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. will be honored at a special observance event Thursday, Jan. 25 at the Southwestern Illinois College Belleville Campus Main Complex Theatre, 2500 Carlyle Ave. The program starts at 11 a.m. and continues until 12:15 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.

The program will feature a “Tribute to Martin Luther King Jr.: Living the Dream” by motivational speaker, author and personal development coach Dion Jordan.

He is the founder of DionJordan.com, a full-service international empowerment firm, and the Speakers Society, an organization that helps youth and adults build confidence through public speaking.

In his educational and motivational presentation, Jordan reflects on the extraordinary life and legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. He will emphasize King’s dream and encourage audience members to live their own dreams.
