Adult Education offers free Citizenship classes to prepare eligible legal permanent residents for the United States naturalization process. Students may take citizenship classes more than once, if necessary. All citizenship classes and materials are free. Call to pre-register for classes. In English: 618-222-5369

The Citizenship Resource Center from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) provides a number of free online educational resources to assist individuals with understanding and preparing for the naturalization process. There are also a number of citizenship resources available in other languages.

  • American government
  • American history
  • The U.S. Constitution and Declaration of Independence
  • The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) interview procedure

ESL Citizenship – This is a more in-depth class, for those who need English language support.
Intended for students at the ESL program level.  Meets for an 8-week term
