High School Equivalency Classes | Southwestern Illinois College

The Adult Education department offers FREE high school equivalency test preparation classes at its Belleville, Sam Wolf Granite City and Red Bud campuses, the East St. Louis Higher Education Center and at many extension sites. These classes prepare students for a high school equivalency examination.

Classes start monthly and usually last four or eight weeks. Day and evening classes are available.  Pre-registration is required to enroll for all locations.

For students 16 or 17 years old:
As of Jan. 1, 2012, Adult Education programs must receive separation documentation or written documentation stating a student is not enrolled in high school for any student 16 or 17 years old. Students over 18 years of age do NOT need to fill out this form. This documentation must come from the public school system where the student’s permanent address is located and must be presented BEFORE the required pre-registration session for Adult Education classes.  Click link for downloadable form
