Are you interested in building your technology skillset and adding IT credentials to your resume? SWIC, Google, Coursera, and Jobs for the Future are partnering to offer southwestern Illinois community members the chance to enroll in a Google Professional Certificate program and potentially connect with top employers in our region. You will need to use a laptop or personal computer to complete the lessons (not a cell phone). The classes are self-paced, done entirely on-line, and include videos and quizzes.
The Data Analytics Professional Certificate program includes more than 180 hours of instruction and is suitable for intermediate to advanced computer users. Lessons on collecting, transforming, and organizing data in order to draw new insights and make informed business decisions will help prepare participants for jobs as associate data analysts, operations analysts, data technicians, business performance analysts, and marketing analysts. Participants will learn about spreadsheets, SQL, Tableau, and R Programming.
The Project Management Professional Certificate program explains how project managers successfully start, plan, and execute projects using both traditional and agile project management approaches. More than 100 hours of instruction explains stakeholder analysis grids, project charters and more, helping prepare participants for jobs as project assistants, operations associates, project analysts, project administrators, and technical project managers.
The IT Support Professional Certificate program is designed for people that want entry level jobs as database administrators, IT support specialists, tech support specialists, and help desk technicians. This training program includes more than 100 hours of instruction and is suitable for beginner to intermediate computer users. Participants will learn about Linux, Cloud Computing, and Command Line-Interfaces.

A link to enroll in the class will be sent to you through Coursera. Grant funds are being used to offer these certificates at no cost; and currently it is limited to one free course per person. If you find you need assistance to get through the course, we plan to have tutors available at the end of May.
