Early School Leaver Program

The Early School Leaver Transition Program is a cooperative education program designed to provide valuable worksite learning experiences for 16- to 21-year-old non-high school completers. Students who qualify for the program may work part time in the community in a job related to their areas of interest and ability.

The program helps students earn their GED certificates, explore career interests and find employment. It encourages participants to enroll in Adult Education's free computer training classes and other classes offered by the department.

Another major goal of the Early School Leaver Transition Program is to assist students in continuing their education at Southwestern Illinois College or other institutions of higher learning.
