Success Center
Success Centers at each campus offer SWIC students a warm and welcoming place to study, ask questions, and deepen their learning through free walk-in and online tutoring, math, writing, and chemistry boot camps, and learning tools including biology models and microscopes, graphing calculators and many handouts, worksheets, and practice tests.
The Success Center is now hiring peer tutors for Fall 2023. Peer tutors work between 6 and 20 hours per week offering academic assistance to students. Tutors can provide assistance for any course in which they’ve received an A. All tutors attend 10 hours of initial tutor training, and receive mentoring from specialists and senior peer tutors. The Success Center’s Tutor Training program is certified by the College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA), an international tutor certification organization. Most tutors leave the Success Center as internationally certified CRLA tutors, an excellent resume builder.
