The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire a Support Service Worker for the Chester Mental Health Center located in Chester, Illinois to perform housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation duties in assigned areas of the facility and on an assigned shift. Operates electrical, mechanical, or hand-operated tools, devices or machinery. Loads, unloads, distributes, and collects supplies. Reports (verbally or handwritten) need for supplies. Receives training and assists in training other workers in proper housekeeping and sanitation techniques. Lifts trash and disposes in trash bins for pickup.
Essential Functions
• Performs housekeeping, cleaning, and sanitation duties in assigned areas of the facility and on an assigned shift.
• Loads, unloads, distributes, and collects supplies, clothing, food, patient property, records, materials, equipment and moves furniture weighing up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
• Reports (verbally or handwritten) need for supplies, repairs and maintenance of building or equipment in assigned areas to maintain operations, equipment, and security.
• Receives training and assists in training other workers in proper housekeeping and sanitation techniques and in the use of moderate to heavy equipment, supplies or tools.
• Lifts trash and disposes in trash bins for pickup.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Minimum Qualifications
• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six (6) months experience in the support service functional area to which assigned.
Conditions of Employment
• Requires ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work and lifting up to 75 pounds with assistance.
• Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Hours | 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm Thursday – Monday
Pay/Wages | Anticipated Salary: $3,822 – $5,060 per month
