SWIC is excited about the development of our new Dental Hygiene program and the opportunities it will provide for students interested in this growing healthcare field. The program was originally anticipated to begin in Fall 2027. However, the launch will be delayed as SWIC continues working through the required accreditation process.
Accreditation must be completed before students can be admitted to the program, and we are committed to taking the necessary steps to develop a high-quality program that meets all accreditation requirements.
Students interested in Dental Hygiene are encouraged to continue preparing academically. Anticipated prerequisite coursework includes Anatomy & Physiology I and II (BIOL 157 and BIOL 158), Chemistry (CHEM 105), and Microbiology (BIOL 250). Final admission requirements, application procedures and program start dates will be announced once they are established.
These courses may also fulfill requirements for related programs available through SWIC’s joint agreement partnerships. Students are encouraged to meet with their academic advisor to discuss joint agreement options and determine the best academic pathway based on their educational goals. Please continue to check this page for updates as the program moves through the development and accreditation process.
