Teller Duties

• Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements.
• Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances.
• Examines checks to verify other information, such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments, and the legality of the document.
• Enters customers’ transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
• Rolls Coin
• Completes Specialized Transactions such as Savings Bond Redemption, Tax or Utility Payments (Utility payments for Freeburg only)
• Process credit card transactions for loan payments
• Process Real Estate Tax payments (seasonal)
• Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds with little supervision.
• Orders daily supply of cash needed, and counts incoming cash to drawer.
• Balances currency, coin, and checks in cash drawer at end of shift and compares totaled amounts with data displayed on computer screen.
• Assist with Incoming phone, forwarding calls appropriately, and answering non-complex customer inquiries as needed
• May accept and process non-complex Stop Payment requests
• Assists with deposits processed through the mail, night depository or ATM.
• Accepts loan payments and ensures payments meet balance due.
• Assists the bank with BSA compliance by logging monetary transactions, reporting and preparing CTRs with supervision, and immediately reporting suspicious currency transactions to the BSA office.
• Shows proper judgment calls on various transactions, including teller limits, overrides, and customer issues
• May process requests for Counter Checks
• Scans all proof work, fixes rejects, and balances bundles for further transmission to the Fed.

Hours | Minimum 38 hours / Maximum 40 hours
Pay/Wages | $17 – $22 per hour
