Southwestern Illinois College is expanding its Career Technology Education (CTE) programming to the Red Bud campus with the construction of a new 7,800-square-foot facility. A groundbreaking event will take place on Friday, June 6, 2025, at 10 a.m., coinciding with the Red Bud campus’s 40th anniversary. The expansion aims to enhance workforce training and meet regional demand for career-focused education through modern, adaptable facilities. The new building will support programs in Allied Health, welding, plumbing, and construction management, with room for future growth. SWIC has partnered with Farnsworth Group for architectural services and Holland Construction for preconstruction. Construction is expected to be completed by Spring 2026, with classes beginning Fall 2026.
