High School Equivalency Testing Information
For Illinois residents, High School Equivalency tests are administered at various testing locations throughout the state including the Belleville campus.
Southwestern Illinois College offers two brands of HSE tests (GED and HiSET). Students may decide which test brand to take.
An online registration and testing fee payment is required to take the test. More information can be found at the following links:

In addition to achieving the minimum score in each of the subject areas, proof of passing the Illinois & U.S. Constitution will be required to obtain a high school equivalency certificate. Upon passing the GED or HiSET, this proof will have to be shown to the Regional Office of Education in the passer’s county of residence along with their $20 certificate and official transcript fee.
