ACT Prep Workshop (AGE 16+, Book fee: approx. $20)
This class prepares students to read and comprehend the material on the ACT evaluation in the time allowed as successfully as possible. Students will use simulated exams to learn about the different types of questions and the best strategies for successfully answering them. This workshop includes computer assisted drills for developing reading techniques and speed, and discussions on test taking strategies and reasoning skills. Upholstery Lab (Bring a simple chair to upholster. Supply list will be sent)
Bring a simple chair to class and learn basic upholstery skills that will give it a new look. During the first class the instructor will discuss types of fabrics to purchase and teach you how to take off the old upholstery. You will be given a list of supplies that you will need to start reupholstering your chair. You will be required to bring your chair home after each class session and work on it between classes. New! Intro to Ballroom Dancing (Supply fee: $2 Music CD)
This class is designed for people who want to become more comfortable on the dance floor. Whether you’re preparing for a wedding or just looking for something to make you more confident on the dance floor, this class is for you! Don’t be the one sitting on the sidelines when everyone else is dancing! You will learn four basic steps in a Swing, Foxtrot, and a Waltz. Each week you will learn to blend the new steps together. No experience necessary; partner preferred but not required. Leather-soled shoes preferred, socks okay; no tennis shoes.

Get Ready, Get Set & Go Write Grants
A hands- on grant writing class. It will provide the beginner and experienced grant writer the structural and literacy tools needed to write strong successful proposals that will facilitate the securing of funds for an organization. This course will strengthen the student’s ability to identify suitable funding sources, manufacture competitive grant proposals and evaluate their own work from the standpoint of a federal grant reviewer. Sign Language
American Sign Language is a beautiful language with the grammar, structure, nuances all its own. Whether you wish to communicate with a friend or coworker who is deaf, you want to teach basic sign language to your children, or you’ve simply always wanted to learn a new language, this class can get you on the right foot to learning the basics of communicating in American Sign Language. While American Sign Language is used by a wide variety of people for a wide variety of reasons, this class will focus on American Sign Language used by people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
