JC Framing in New Athens, IL is looking for a qualified Carpenter to frame new construction houses in the O’Fallon, Shiloh, Mascoutah area.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$30.00 per hour.
Your job will entail working in diverse settings to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products. A carpenter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials. Would be working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting buildings and products. We are willing to help train.
Responsibilities
• Take measurements and cut lumber according to measurements
• Capable of sheeting a roof, building walls and setting trusses
• Lay out floorings and roofings ensuring they are leveled and compatible
• Build scaffolding and other construction structures
Skills
• Proven experience as carpenter
• Hands-on experience in working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Ability to lift and carry sheets of plywood, and studs
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, nail gun, rulers etc.)
• Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times
• Prepared to work in all weather conditions
• Self-motivated
• Good knowledge of English
• Good understanding of basic math
• Good physical condition and endurance
