The Village of Glen Carbon is accepting applications for the position of Parks Maintenance Superintendent. The position is responsible for the safe and efficient daily operations of the Parks Department. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to supervising staff, maintaining parks grounds, facilities, cemetery, and equipment for the Village owned parks properties. Position also performs administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, oversight for procurement of materials, equipment, and vehicles, and assists in budget development/expenditure monitoring.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have 5 or more years’ experience in all aspects of parks maintenance.
- Must have 3 or more years supervisory experience.
- You must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Must possess or be able to obtain Dept. of Agriculture applicator’s license within 6 months of hire.
- Must have ability to operate and maintain various parks maintenance and landscaping equipment including but not limited to; various types of mowers, tractors, weed eaters, tree trimming equipment, landscape tools, etc.
- Must be proficient in related computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills when working with others including the general public.
Salary and Benefits:
- Salary Range is $64,710.00 – $73,769.40
- Health Insurance is covered at 90% for employees and dependents. Current medical deductible $150 for single/$450 family
