The Jackie Joyner-Kersee Foundation is seeking dependable, energetic, and caring individuals to mentor and supervise school-age youth in our Afterschool Program. Responsibilities include leading educational and recreational activities, assisting with homework, promoting positive behavior, and creating a safe, engaging environment for students.
Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday: 1:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.; Wednesday: 12:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Applicants must be consistently available during these hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED
• At least 2 years of experience working directly with groups of school-age children in a school, licensed childcare center, youth program, recreation program, camp, or organized coaching/mentoring environment
• Experience limited to babysitting, caring for family members, or informal childcare does not meet the minimum qualifications
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening
Preferred: College coursework or a degree in Education, Psychology, Social Work, Child Development, Recreation, or a related field.
