PROGRAM CAPACITY
Sam Wolf Granite City Campus
The Medical Surgical Technology program generally accepts 10 students each academic year at the Sam Wolf Granite City Campus. Seats available are dependent on meeting application requirements and on clinical availability.
PROGRAM LOCATION
The Medical Surgical Technology program consists of general education coursework, MST pre-fix courses and assigned clinical internships.
Specific locations depend on the course.
Clinical experience may be scheduled during the day at hospital, clinic, or privately-owned facilities throughout southern Illinois an in the St. Louis region
GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES
The required general education courses can be taken at Sam Wolf Granite City campus and with some online opportunities available.
SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY COURSES
The MST program courses are only offered at the Sam Wolf Granite City Campus during the day.
CLINICAL EDUCATION EXPERIENCES
Clinical practice courses begin in the second fall semester and spring semester during the day until program completion. Clinical experience are completed off campus in various MST employment settings in southern Illinois and in the St. Louis region. Students may be required to travel outside the college district for clinical experience courses. Background check and drug testing are mandatory requirements prior to starting the program. Specific placement cannot be guaranteed.

Financial aid is available subject to financial need and satisfactory academic progress requirements set by the college.
The student work program does not require financial aid eligibility.

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Upon successful completion of the MST curriculum, graduates are awarded an Associate in Applied Science degree.
