COURSE SEQUENCE

Acceptance to the program is required before an applicant will be permitted to register for the Medical Surgical Technology program.

MEDICAL SURGICAL TECHNOLOGY DEGREE

Medical Surgical Technology Education Associate in Applied Science Degree (028C) Course Sequence

This is a 60-credit hour, two year accredited degree consisting of:

  • 20 credit hours of general education courses
  • 40 credit hours of Medical Surgical Technology Education courses

The curriculum includes basic science, general education and professional courses with education performed at affiliate hospitals.

COURSE INFORMATION

GENERAL EDUCATION COURSES

General education course can be completed prior to admission. These courses can be taken at Same Wolf Granite City campus or online. If general education course are not completed prior to admission, they must be completed during the semesters indicated above.

CLINICAL EDUCATION EXPERIENCES

Clinical experiences are completed off campus in various practice settings. Students may be required to travel outside of the college district for clinical experiences and are required to complete Background check and drug testing prior to acceptance into the program. Clinical experience begins the fourth semester. Specific clinical placement is cannot be guaranteed.
