Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shop Worker to join our team. In this role, you will primarily operate our waterjet systems to cut precision dies while also running and programming EDM machines and performing grinding/sharpening on label dies. This is a key hands-on position in our die production process, requiring strong attention to detail and technical skill.
Key Responsibilities
● Operate and maintain waterjet equipment to cut high-precision label dies and components according to customer specifications and blueprints.
● Set up, run, and program wire EDM machines for intricate die features and components.
● Perform grinding, sharpening, and finishing of label dies to ensure clean cuts and longevity.
● Inspect finished dies using precision measuring tools to verify tolerances and quality.
● Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on waterjet, EDM, and grinding machines.
● Collaborate on custom die projects and contribute ideas for process improvements.
● Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all safety protocols.
Qualifications
Required:
● 2+ years of experience operating waterjet and/or wire EDM machines in a precision manufacturing environment.
● Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with grinding/sharpening tools and techniques for dies.
● Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
● Experience with CNC programming and setup.
● Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred:
● Hands-on experience with label dies, stack dies, or cutting dies for printing/packaging industries.
● Proficiency with Omax waterjet, Charmilles wire EDM, or similar equipment.
● BobCAD, Fusion 360, or other CAD/CAM software experience.
● Trade school certification or apprenticeship in machining/tool & die.
