    Check your Voicemail

    To log in from your own campus desk phone

    1. Press your message button or dial the voice messaging access number – 5995.
    2. Enter your password, then press “#”.
    3. You hear the mailbox summary.

    To log in from another phone on campus

    1. To access voicemail you must first call the voicemail access number. When on campus, press the message button or dial the voice messaging access number – 5995.
    2. If it’s not your extension press *. You hear a prompt asking you to enter your mailbox number.
    3. Enter your mailbox number, and then press “#”.
    4. Enter your password, and then press “#”.
    5. You hear the mailbox summary.

    To log in off campus

    1. From any touch tone phone off-campus, dial 618-235-2700 followed by the Voice Messaging access number – 5995 or dial directly 618-641-5995.
    2. Press “#”. You will hear a prompt asking you to enter your mailbox number.
    3. Enter your mailbox number, and then press “#”.
    4. Enter your password, and then press “#”.
    5. You hear the mailbox summary.

    Playing your messages

    Your phone may have a message-waiting light to indicate new messages. When you play your messages, new messages play first, followed by previously played messages.

    1. After logging in, listen to the mailbox summary.
    2. You hear the number of new messages you have, and number of messages in other categories.
    3. Press 1 to review new messages.

    Deleting a message while listening

    You have the ability to delete a message without listening to it in its entirety.

    1. While the message is playing, dial 7, to delete the message.
    2. The next message will being to play; dial 7 if you wish to delete, repeat as needed.

    Greetings & Recorded Name

    Update your voicemail greeting and recorded name.

    1. Login to your voicemail.
    2. After the mailbox summary:
      • Press 4 – User preferences
      • Press 3 – Record/change greetings
        • Personal greeting – Press 1
          A longer greeting; include your name, and other helpful information.
        • Recorded name – Press 3
          Record your name.
    3. Follow the prompts to record, review and save your greeting.

    Extended Absence Greetings

    You can set up a temporary message if you will be out of the office.

    1. Login to your voicemail.
    2. After the mailbox summary:
      • Press 4 – User preferences
      • Press 3 – Record/change greetings
      • Press 2 – Extended absence greeting
    3. Follow the prompts to record, review and save your greeting.

    To remove your extended absence greeting, login to your voicemail and follow the prompts to delete the greeting.
