Nov. 5-7 – The Laramie Project
Main Complex Theatre, Friday, Nov. 5, 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 6, 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 7, 2 p.m.
This play examines how a community responds to tragedy and the aftermath of larger societal injustices following the 1998 hate-crime murder of gay teenager Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming.
Nov. 11 – Dec. 10 – SWIC Artist’s League Juried Exhibition

Nov. 21 – SWIC Fall Choral Concert
3 p.m., Union United Methodist Church, 21 E. Main St., Belleville
The SWIC Concert Choir & Chamber Singers will present a variety of music exploring themes of grief and resilience. Free and open to the public.
Dec. 1 – SWIC Speech Competition
6-8 p.m., LA Theatre and LA classrooms (TBD)
This competition allows SWIC Comm 151 Fundamentals of Public Speaking students to use their skills to compete for a cash prize. Three speaking events: impromptu, informative, and persuasive. One winner, and one runner up for each category.
Dec. 9 – Concert Band Performance
7 p.m., St. Clare of Assisi Church, 1411 Cross St., O’Fallon
The SWIC Concert Band will present a variety of music, including compositions by George Gershwin, John Philip Sousa, and James Reese Europe, along with many others. Free and open to the public.
