ACCESS STATIONS
Access Stations are available in various student support areas such as the Libraries, Success Center, and Career Center. Each station is identified with the type of access equipment and software available. Contact Student Accessibility and Support Services for information.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Parking lots at various locations on each campus have reserved spaces for vehicles displaying handicap license plates or valid handicap parking placards.
ACCESSIBLE ROUTES – ELECTRONIC ENTRANCES
Level pathways to exterior automatic door openers are at various locations of each of the campus buildings.
ELEVATORS
Elevators are at various locations within each of the campus buildings.
LARGE AREA HEARING ASSIST SYSTEMS
Large area hearing assist systems are available in the Belleville Campus Theaters in the Main Building and Liberal Arts Complex, as well as the Gymnasium.
OPEN COLLEGE EVENTS
The College will respond to requests from students and campus visitors who need disability-related accommodations for attendance at open events. Requests for sign language interpreters, assistive listening systems or other forms of access should be made by contacting the hosting department in advance so arrangements can be made.
READSPEAKER TEXT-TO-SPEECH ACCESS
SWIC utilizes ReadSpeaker, a text-to-speech technology to help people interact with the College’s webpages and online learning platform, Brightspace, in an auditory manner. ReadSpeaker is not only compatible with both MAC and PC’s, it is also multi-lingual.

Accessible restrooms with emergency phones are available in each of the campus buildings.
