Financial Aid Dates - Southwestern Illinois College

There are dates for each semester in which students can use their financial aid to pay for tuition and books. When all outstanding SWIC balances have been paid, excess funds are disbursed to the student by direct deposit or paper check.

Books & Census

Financial aid dates that students may use their funds to purchase required books and supplies at the campus bookstore beginning 1 week before and 2 weeks after classes start. The summer semester allows for 2 weeks – 1 week before and 1 week after classes start.

The census date allows students to make changes to their schedules without financial aid penalty during the first 2 weeks of classes for the fall and spring semesters – 1 week for summer. Note that 10% drop fees may be accrued during the census period. Be aware of the 90% drop dates for each class.

Disbursements are made in the 6th week of class during the fall and spring semesters and the 3rd week for summer. Refund checks will be mailed within 14 days of disbursement.
