SWIC Athletics Department offers both the excitement of intercollegiate sports and the fun of intramural sports.
Intercollegiate sports at SWIC include men's soccer, basketball and baseball, and women's volleyball, basketball, softball and soccer, as well as men's and women's golf.

SWIC is affiliated with the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and belongs to the Great Rivers Athletic Conference (GRAC), one of the leading community college athletic conferences in the nation for baseball, men's and women's basketball, softball, volleyball and men's golf. Other community colleges in this conference include Kaskaskia, John A. Logan, Rend Lake, Lincoln Trail, Olney Central, Wabash Valley, and Southeastern Illinois College.
The Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA) requires institutions of higher education to prepare annually a report on specific information about its intercollegiate athletics program.
The intramural program gives all students the opportunity to participate in individual, co-recreational and team sports, such as flag football, bowling, basketball, volleyball, softball, and tennis.
The intramural gym and free-weight room are available for students to use during the day at scheduled times.
